I.Q. Suport is a non-governmental, non-profit, with no political affiliation association which aims to create and develop mobilities and opportunities for youngsters regarding the good development of their local communities, the promoting of European values and modern democracy, through their active participation in national and international contexts.
I.Q. Suport has among its main activities the concern for developing solidarity, tolerance and improving the intercultural dialogue among youngsters all around the world.
The members and activities of our organization stimulate the active citizenship of youngsters, using non-formal methods in educational purposes, according a great importance to teaching young people to work with various media instruments, stimulating their creativity and awareness towards various issues focusing from local to worldwide interests.
We are proud to have in our team motivated young people who involve themselves in different branches of activities inside and outside the organization. Our youngsters gained experience in working with youngsters and also technical and artistic skills in working with different types of media in youth exchange both in Romania but also outside the country, in Germany, Hungary, Poland, Turkey and so on.
We have well-prepared media trainers in video, photo, video and photo editing, graphic and web design. We have youngsters who are licensed in public relations, publicity, advertisement, young people who are certified in foreign languages and also students in the fields of art, visuals, video, graphics and architecture.
The members in charge with I.Q. Suport have all at least two years of volunteering in another non-governmental organization where they dealt with different challenges and thus they have a good and growing knowledge and experience in working with youth. More than that, being a young team, we can deal better with youngsters, being close to the problems they face at their age and their life styles.
It is the politics of I.Q. Suport to learn the others and learn from the others; so our members know the importance of peer-to-peer education. In this way we can teach and help other youngsters of our age and at the same time we are always improving our work with them enhancing new things with each experience.
We address to a large number of youngsters in Romania with ages starting 5 to 28 year-old. Our main target is formed of youngsters aged 15-26 but we also have local activities for and with children.
We also address some of our activities to older people who have direct or less direct influence on the local community, but who are less involved in the activities. Our task is to find ways in order to motivate them to involve in the good development of their local communities.
The youngsters we are working with are not only living in Pucioasa, but also in other cities in Romania, where we have had more intense activities like Botosani. However, our work is a lot based on the cooperation of youngsters from different countries, different backgrounds and different social lives.
One branch of our target group are disadvantaged youngsters, may this be physical or psychical or young people with difficulties concerning social integration due to social or economical issues.
The headquarters of our organization lies in Pucioasa, a small town in the south of the country, at 100 km from the capital city, Bucharest and only 40 km from one of the most beautiful mountain places in Romania, on Valea Prahovei.
Pucioasa is close to being a touristic town for its landscape, but mostly for its enrichments, being known as a famous resort for natural treatments.
